Football Suffers Second Straight Loss

On Friday, October 2, the Vikings faced West Jefferson in the pouring rain and strong winds. The game got off to a rough start, with the Vikings down 21-0 in the first quarter and a rally with a rushing touchdown made by Roman Bellisari’17.

The Vikings’ defense performed better the second quarter, holding off West Jefferson from scoring another touchdown. But West Jefferson scored a field goal making the game 24-7. The Vikes came back with another touchdown when Matt Watters’16 threw a 73-yard pass to Jerome Buckner’18, who ran the ball into the end zone. The Vikes were starting to catch up just before halftime.

But third quarter did not bode well for the Vikings. West Jefferson scored another 21 points, and the Vikings did not score again the rest of the game.

The team suffered its second straight loss against West Jefferson 45-14.
