The Vikings trumped Worthington Kilbourne 4-0 on August 25. With goals from Alyssa Edwards’16, Grace Geiger’16, Natalie L’Hommedieu’17, and Avie Smith’19, the team showed great depth as an offensive unit. While there were some stray breakaways from Kilbourne, the defense held its composure and handled these gracefully.
On August 28, the team traveled to Cincinnati to face Ursuline and Oakwood. The girls dominated against Ursuline with great passing and intense offensive pressure on goal, especially by Maddie Vaziri’16. Ursuline’s defense was no match against Vaziri’s great stick skills, as she scored a hat-trick to lead the team to a 3-0 win.
After their stellar performance against Ursuline, the girls were eager to face Oakwood. Despite playing at a slower pace, the girls connected well on the field, especially for the goal that put them ahead 1-0, and, ultimately, gave them the win. L’Hommedieu took a penalty corner and connected to Geiger and then to Vaziri, who passed back to Geiger, who scored a beautiful goal. The Vikes defeated Oakwood 1-0.
