On Friday, February 20th, the boys and girls swim team both received District Team Runner-Ups. Head coach, Coach Craig Yascoe, says, “Everyone swam very well. We had about 90% personal record swims on Friday. It was a very exciting meet all the way through with fantastic performances by our swimmers who represented CA very well! We all should be proud of them!
The relay team of Tin Le’17, Max Dreisbach’18, Nate Goldfarb’17, and Dylan Warren’17 won the 400-yard freestyle relay and were runners-up in the medley relay. The team qualifies for states in both events. Sophomore Tin Le also received runner-up in the 50-yard freestyle, with a time of 22.64. Other boys state qualifiers include Nate Goldfarb’17 in the 200-yard IM and the 100-yard breaststroke, and Max Dreisbach’18 in the 100-yard backstroke.
Abby Wilson’15 won the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle, setting a school record of 51.46 seconds.
Audrey Grammel’17 won the 100-yard backstroke. Anya Koné’15 got runner up in the 50-yard freestyle, the 200-yard free relay.
Koné, Sydney Brault’16, Sarah Campbell’16, and Wilson got runner up, setting a school record of 1:37.95. This relay team set another school record and got runner-up for the 400-free relay.
Sarah Campbell got runner-up in the 100 backstroke.
All of these swimmers advance to states. Others state qualifiers include Campbell in the 200-free and 100-backstroke, Kone in the 50-yard free, and Brault in the 500-yard freestyle.
