New Girl Scout Cookies and Their Sugar Content

Girl Scout cookies have always been a tasty, popular treat, but not the healthiest. This year they are featuring three new, healthier flavors: Toffee–Tastic, Trios, and Rah–Rah Raisins.

Two of these cookies’ flavors are gluten free: Toffee–Tastic contains toffee bits and one serving (two cookies) has 70 calories with 3.5 grams of sugar. Trios are made with peanut butter, chocolate chips, and whole grain oats and have 56 calories with 4 grams of sugar. Rah–Rah Raisins is an oatmeal raisin cookie with chunks of Greek yogurt-flavored and contain 60 calories with 3.5 grams of sugar.

Another high-in-demand cookie is the Oreo, which contains 53 calories with 5 grams of sugar. Even though the Girl Scout cookies are described as “healthier,” the number of calories and sugar is still close to that of an Oreo. As with anything, take either in moderation. Eating a whole box of cookies is a lot of sugar.
