In the Midterm elections, the Republicans won control of the Senate and retained their majority in the House of Representatives.

Ex-Navy SEAL, Robert O’Neill, confirmed that he shot and killed Osama Bin Laden in May, 2011.

AC/DC drummer, Phil Rudd, was charged with allegedly hiring a hit man to kill two people.

President Obama nominated Loretta Lynch, the current US Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, to replace Eric Holder as the Attorney General.

The North Korean government released two Americans, Kenneth Bae, 46, and Matthew Miller, 25, both of whom it had previously held hostage.
