Boys Varsity Soccer Faces Tough Competition at Districts

After a couple of close losses to league rivals, Grandview Heights and Bexley, followed by a 9-0 shutout against Madison Plains, Academy boys soccer team sits at a record of 8-7 with one game left before the post-season distract tournament. This last game, however, will not have an effect on the seeding at the distract tournament as tournament seeding has already been set.

Due to a couple of close losses, the soccer squad is not seeded as high as it has been in previous seasons. Therefore, it faces tough competition to advance through the district tournament, including strong teams as Wellington, Fisher Catholic, Grandview Heights, and Worthington Christian. The team has suffered losses to two of the four teams and has not played the other two this season.

Come game day, it’s a level playing field. Who knows what our soccer squad will accomplish? You can watch its first tournament game against Shekinah Christian School on October 15th at 7:00pm on the Hondros Field. Go Vikings!
