Skating together for 17 years, Davis, 27 years old, and White, 26, set a record of  78.89 to bring home the gold.  As children, they lived ten minutes away from each other in Detroit and became a team when they were eight. (White figured skating would  help him with ice hockey.) Their faces at the podium showed everything had been worth the gold. America’s hearts and hopes go out to Davis and White as they progress in their careers. Their charm has certainly swept the nation!
