The girls basketball team is filled with young sophomore talent this year! Zaria McBride15’, Caroline Aronowitz15’, as well as Neve Adler 15’ all will play important roles this season while senior Brianna Stahl, who has 3 years of varsity experience, looks to lead the team! Hopefully the competitive spirit of the team will carry it to a successful season.
Swimming
The leadership and experience brought to the table by upperclassmen will carry the swimmers this season! The team is loaded with talent, but the key contributor to its success will be the example set by returning district and state qualifiers. Mitchell Dreisbach14’ and Gavin Koerner14’ look to play significant roles in the success of the boy’s squad this year. The girls are anchored by seniors Lauren Cullen and India Sherman, with help from junior juggernauts Anya Koné and Abby Wilson! Expect great work from the Vikings this season. Additionally, watch out for freshman Nate Goldfarb, who is expected to put the boy’s team in prime position to qualify for the state meet.
Wrestling
The Vikings wrestlers are excited about the new season ahead of them, and the team led by a plethora of outstanding juniors hopes to continue its winning tradition on the mat. After an incredible sophomore season, Daniel Jones15’ is determined to dominate the competition once again this year, and with the help of junior teammates, Reed Clark and Sam Wittman, the entire team should see exceptional results throughout the year!
Bowling
In Academy’s third season with a varsity bowling squad, coaches Olexio and Parker hope to only extend its success during the 2013-2014 season. Junior Max Smith, who finished 8th overall at the District tournament last season, should have another breakout season this year. Aaron Brown16’ will hopefully follow up his district qualifying season with even greater accomplishments this winter. The bowling team continues to attract great interest from the student body, so expect plenty of new contributors to lead the team to triumph this season!
