Baseball’s Week of Rematches

Halfway through its season, varsity baseball has a 3-7 record.

Although it maintains a respectable .300 batting average, fielding causes problems. Captain Charlie Watters’14 says, “We lost our outfield, which has big shoes to fill now.”

When it succeeds in stopping its opponents, the team soars with huge wins such as the 17-7 triumph of rival Bexley last Friday.

Upcoming home games are tomorrow against Lakewood and on Wednesday against Whitehall-Yearling, both at 5:15 PM. These schools beat the Vikings earlier this season, so our team is eager for the rematches.

Despite the somewhat disappointing record, the team maintains high spirits and continues to bond over its love of the game. Watters sums up their positive sentiment saying, “I am excited about playing with some of my good friends as well as my brother. Baseball is my favorite thing to do, and as long as I am out there, I am happy.”
