Varsity Tennis

Varsity tennis swept away competition early in the season and earned a 4-1 record. In every court, the team triumphed over Wellington, Olentangy Liberty, Granville, and Centerville, finishing 5-0 across the board. After battling Sycamore, the Vikings fell short, winning two courts but losing three.

Senior Abram Schottenstein and freshman Jacob Waretti remain undefeated with five matches under their belts. While Waretti surprised many as the youngest on the varsity team, Schottenstein’s consistent performance was expected. Also winning four out of matches were  Evan Alexander’14 in singles and the double pairs of Jung’14-Kundur’15 and Smith’13-Firouzian’14.

On Wednesday April 17th, the Vikes battles their rival, New Albany. Columbus Academy will hold this anticipated match. The Eagles currently hold a 2-0 record and have been a  fierce competition every season.  Academy’s early start may just give it an edge on Wednesday.
