Girls Varsity Lacrosse

The varsity girls lacrosse team began its season with a strong start, defeating 3 competitive teams. The girls rallied off its first win after defeating an extremely resilient Thomas Worthington team.

Next, the girls journeyed to Columbus School for Girls to face the Unicorns on  “their turf.” This highly anticipated game was fueled by hard feelings between the teams. The Vikings prevailed and racked up another win, defeating the Unicorns by a comfortable margin.

The team found itself facing long-time rival, Bexley, in its most recent game. After having many lead changes early on, Makéla Hughes’16 and senior captain, Courtney Deena, scored goals within a minute of the first half, giving the Vikings a 5-3 lead and momentum going into halftime. Advancing their record to 3-0, the Vikings defeated the Lions 11-5. The girls have high hopes for the season and hope to have a great run in the tournament.
