Boys Lacrosse Pre-Season

Columbus Academy’s boys lacrosse team plans to come out strong for its second year in the Mid State League. Non-stop intensive training and conditioning for the past two weeks have prepared the players for their first scrimmage of the season against Gahanna Lincoln on Wednesday, March 13.

Led by Grayson Wise’15, Tyler Krumlauf ’14, and Hart Wise’13, the team is excited for its second season. Hart Wise’13 says, “There are definitely a lot more guys this year, and we have moved a step up from last year. We are so excited for Academy’s second year of lacrosse and expect big things.” With twelve freshmen, he says, “I see an immense amount of potential and improvement to come out of the new guys on the team.”

Krumlauf adds, “Although it’s only our second season, I see great potential from our underclassmen. I am so excited to be a part of such a talented team.”

Head Coach J.B. Jones’s favorite motivational phrase during conditioning workouts is, “I know it hurts now, but just think about how much it’s going to hurt Bexley when they look at the scoreboard at the end of our game.” The Bexley game marks the last home game of the season, so the team should be fully equipped and ready to face its rival.

As a relatively inexperienced team, strength often comes in numbers. With an impressive squad of 32 players, the boys lacrosse team hopes to make a name for itself this year.
